I like the term "invisible" because it suggests that something exists, but cannot be seen. Things invisible are stealthy, being undetectable to human senses, yet they exist nonetheless.
On one hand, when I call something invisible it feels like I'm living in a fantasy or science fiction novel, but you and I experience the invisible every day and we don't think it's strange.
Our thoughts are invisible. You can't see my thoughts, but they exist. You are not aware of what I am thinking until I express my thoughts. But until I do, my thoughts are sacred - only known to me and God.
Our emotions are also invisible. If I am not outwardly manifesting how I am feeling, you will never know. To be honest, sometimes I don't even know how I am feeling because emotions can be so fluid and complex, but God knows.
Who we are, deep inside this fleshly form, is invisible as well; and this reality is very evident to me when I've looked upon the remains of someone I love. When my mother died, and I looked at her body, I realized that my mother was no longer there. The life and light I adored were gone, and what was left was the form she occupied while on earth.
It was hard watching her form rapidly become feeble and to see her gradually transitioning to a different plane of existence. Days after and even now, it's still sinking in that my mom was and is invisible. I was so locked onto her form that it was hard to grasp that she still lives… just not in this world.
All humans are invisible, and we will continue to live on and on into eternity. All eternal beings indwelling a physical form will return to eternity just like my mother and father did.
The only thing holdings us here is the will of God, and if we are here by the will of God, then our lives are not our own to do with as we please. We are here on purpose!
Let's take a look in Scripture for God's will for those of us alive on earth.
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
- Matthew 6:9-10 NKJV
Now when He (Jesus) was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”
- Luke 17:20-21
Jesus gave us a model for praying that focuses on our universal purpose of expanding the kingdom of God on earth: "Your kingdom come. Your will be done." That's it!
We are alive on earth for this reason and this reason only - to live as expressions of God and His kingdom on earth.
What is invisible (God's kingdom) is not perceivable through human senses unless we give expression to it. However, we cannot express what we do not embody, and that is why God placed His kingdom within humans (Luke 17:20-21). We were meant to bring the kingdom of God to life on earth so that others could interact with the reality of our Father in heaven.
So, what does our divine purpose have to do with The 2024 Millionaire Challenge? Well, if the challenge has nothing to do with God's will then we should not do it. However, we know that poverty and middle-class citizenry are not manifestations of wealth. There is no poverty nor middle-class in heaven.
The citizens in heaven walk on streets of gold. There's no lack! There's only extravagant opulence and abundance beyond anything that exists on earth.
I'm not suggesting that we live on streets of gold here because you and I know how that story would end given the lust for power on earth. What I am suggesting is that we remove scarcity from our reality and help others to do the same.
As long as the kingdom of God resides in us, and it does, we have the power to produce wealth (Deuteronomy 8:18). We have the power to express God's love, majesty, and extravagance on earth.
Since there is no time like the present, I recommend that you challenge yourself to step up and out of the middle class. Furthermore, please know that the best things in this world are invisible and require YOU to bring them into view.
Right now, you are a millionaire. I can't see it, and you can't see it UNTIL you express it. So then, get busy expressing who you really are! The world is waiting for a sign that God is real. Show them the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever and ever. Amen!
